Listen Now! Ira Kaufman breaks down 2024 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Draft, grades each pick

If you predicted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would take a center with their first-round draft pick, I’d like you to send me this weekend’s Power Ball numbers.

Perhaps they felt they couldn’t pass up on a prospect who some draft boards had being picked as high as 15.

Graham Barton of Duke is expected to come in and start right away.

The Buccaneers didn’t really have any draft night drama to speak of. They went into the draft with seven picks, and they came away with seven.

No trades. No nothing.

They got in and they got out.

Here’s what they got out of the draft:

  • Round 1: No. 26: Graham Barton, C, Duke

  • Round 2: No. 57: Chris Braswell, EDGE, Alabama

  • Round 3: No. 89: Tykee Smith, S, Georgia

  • Round 3: No. 92: Jalen McMillan, WR, Washington

  • Round 4: No. 125: Bucky Irving, RB, Oregon

  • Round 6: No. 220: Elijah Klein, G, Texas-El Paso

  • Round 7: No. 246: Devin Culp, TE, Washington

The Buccaneers filled several needs. Aside from a center, they got an edge rusher, safety and running back, among others.

Which ones will make an immediate impact?

And how much better are the Buccaneers after the draft as opposed to prior to it?

On the latest episode of “The *State* of Florida Sports Podcast,” I talk to Buccaneers expert Ira Kaufman of joebucsfan.com.

Ira’s been covering the team for more than 30 years, and he joined me prior to the draft to share his knowledge.

We’ll find out what he got right, and what may have surprised him about the 2024 NFL Draft.

We’ll have him dole out grades and give his way-too-early prediction on how the Bucs will do in 2024.
