Lexington No. 3 in first AP High School Boys Basketball Poll; Crestview receiving votes

COLUMBUS — The first Associated Press Ohio boys high school basketball poll has been released and it has a Richland County flair to it.

The undefeated Lexington Minutemen came in at No. 3 in Division II and received one first-place vote while tallying 93 total points, just one back of No. 2 Kettering Alter and six back of No. 1 Rocky River Lutheran West.

The Minutemen are 12-0 on the season and 6-0 in the Ohio Cardinal Conference.

The Minutemen are averaging 69.6 points per game as a team led by standout sophomore Brayden Fogle who averaged 14.4 points and 8.3 rebounds. Elijah Hudson averaged 12.4 points while Seven Allen and Joe Caduill sit at 9.8 and 9.7, respectively.

Defensively, the Minutemen are allowing just 45.2 points per game for a more than 20-point difference. The have started the season 12-0 for the second consecutive year and are looking for their first 13-0 start since the 1988-89 state championship season.

In Division III, the undefeated Crestview Cougars received some votes, but haven't quite cracked the Top 10 sitting in 13th. They are out to a 10-0 start for the second straight season and are looking to match or beat last year's record-setting 14-0 start to the season.
