Lehigh 77, Quinnipiac 66

Record-setting Lehigh guard C.J. McCollum continued his sizzling scoring streak Tuesday, scoring 30 points in the Mountain Hawks' 77-66 victory over host Quinnipiac at the TD Banknorth Sports Center in Hamden, Conn.

The senior scored all but two of his team's final 16 points as the Mountain Hawks (5-2) claimed their fourth straight win.

McCollum scored 26 points Sunday in a 91-77 triumph over Sacred Heart to become the Patriot League's all-time leading scorer. With Tuesday's total, he now has 2,256 career points.

Gabe Knutson added 17 points for the winners.

Playing the opener of a three-game homestand, Quinnipiac (2-4) got 16 points from Garvey Young, 13 from Ike Azotam and 11 from Zaid Hearst.

Holden Greiner and Knudsen each had eight first-half points while McCollom was limited to five as Lehigh held a 33-30 halftime lead.

The host Bobcats were coming off a 74-58 loss to George Mason in the consolation round of last week's Paradise Jam. They have now lost three straight and four of their last five.

Lehigh, which tied the series at 3-3, returns home Saturday to play Fairleigh Dickinson, which played at Northwestern on Tuesday. Quinnipiac is back in action Dec. 5 at home against Colgate.
