LeBron James to hold minicamp ahead of Lakers’ official training camp

Love him or hate him, one thing that’s true about LeBron James is that he is totally committed to keeping his body right and prepared for the rigors of the NBA season.

He reportedly spends over $1 million a year to keep himself in top physical condition, and there have been many examples of his year-round commitment to health and fitness.

It has paid off on the court, at least individually. He averaged 30.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game this past season, despite turning 37 in late December.

Before the Lakers officially report for training camp at the end of the summer, James will hold a minicamp for himself and his teammates.

Via Yahoo Sports:

“James is finalizing a destination to host the team’s annual minicamp prior to training camp, with San Diego being the likely landing space over Las Vegas, sources said,” wrote Chris Haynes. “He’s hoping to build a better rapport with teammates before entering the 2022-23 season.”

James will have many new teammates this fall, as the Lakers have replaced many of their older players with younger ones. However, in the eyes of most, such moves haven’t improved the team’s prospects for the 2022-23 campaign.

The four-time world champ will be determined to prove those pundits wrong.
