Las Vegas Raiders pick Georgia TE Brock Bowers in Round 1 of 2024 NFL draft. What you need to know

The Las Vegas Raiders selected Georgia tight end Brock Bowers with the No. 13 pick in the 2024 NFL draft. Bowers spent three seasons with the Bulldogs, capturing two national titles. Here's what to know about Bowers.

Brock Bowers scouting report

Bowers is one of only three three-time All-Americans in Georgia football history. He led the team in receiving yards all three seasons, thriving for the first two under then coordinator Todd Monken. He was a centerpiece of a program that won back-to-back national titles, ending a 41-year drought. Bowers was just outside the top 100 as a recruit, but was as impactful an offensive player as any since Herschel Walker at Georgia. He’s a playmaker with the ball in his hands. Georgia used him on jet sweeps and lined him out wide.

Brock Bowers highlights

Bowers was the go-to target for first-year starter Carson Beck in a 27-20 road win against Auburn last September. He had eight catches for 157 yards and a 40-yard touchdown with 2:52 to go. He shook off two defenders to find the end zone after the catch. He outraced Georgia Tech and South Carolina players as well for long touchdowns in those games in 2021 and 2022, respectively and made a memorable catch against Florida in 2022 when he batted the ball to himself en route to a 73-yard touchdown.

Brock Bowers NFL combine, pro day measurables

Bowers attended the NFL combine, but did not do any drills. He went through medical testing on his surgically repaired left ankle that sidelined him for four games last season. He also did not work out on Georgia’s Pro Day on March 13 and only reportedly ran routes in a private Pro Day on April 10. He was said to run a 4.53 40 weeks earlier in "verified" testing that his agent sent to NFL teams.
