Langston Galloway responds after announcers forget his name: 'Make them remember me'

Langston Galloway has been a member of the Brooklyn Nets for a little over a week. Galloway was signed to a hardship extension Dec. 15 after multiple members of the Nets were placed in the NBA's health and safety protocols.

Galloway officially signed a second 10-day contract with the team Monday, but not everyone got that memo. That led to an awkward silence on the broadcast after Galloway hit a 3-pointer during Monday's 124-108 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.

A lengthy silence followed after Galloway hit the shot. The announcers eventually revealed they didn't know which player made the basket because they didn't have updated roster sheets. Galloway responded to that moment Tuesday, saying he would "make them remember me."

The broadcast exchange made for a humorous moment, and credit to the announcers for admitting what happened. Over 170 players were placed in the NBA's health and safety protocols over the past two weeks, leading to rosters being completely overhauled. Guys who were on teams a week ago might be gone or inactive based on each team's COVID-19 situation.

Langston Galloway is an NBA veteran

NBA announcers should be somewhat familiar with Galloway by now. He's played for six different teams over his 8-year career in the NBA. His longest stint came with the Detroit Pistons, where he spent three seasons.

Galloway was also a member of the Phoenix Suns last season. He did not play during the team's Finals run, but he was on the team's roster. Galloway played in 40 regular season games with the Suns, averaging 4.8 points.

Galloway will have to prove himself if he wants to remain on the Nets after his latest 10-day contract expires. The team will reportedly get LaMarcus Aldridge, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving back from the league's health and safety protocols Tuesday, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
