Lakers willing to part ways with two first round picks for Kyrie Irving

While most of the attention is on Kevin Durant’s trade request, reportedly the Los Angeles Lakers are working to see if they can acquire the previously disgruntled point guard Kyrie Irving.

According to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski the Lakers are dangling out their 2027 and 2029 first round picks. The insider took to ESPN and said that the picks “have a lot of value in the marketplace.”

Woj reports that the Brooklyn Nets are uninterested in the Lakers pieces on the table, meaning the Nets deemed the two first round picks not enough for draft compensation.

The Lakers have been very interested in Irving, likely to make superstar LeBron James happier, but Brooklyn is adamant about receiving the correct amount of talent back for their stars.
