Lady Jumpers drop road game to Russell County

Apr. 22—Somerset was looking for a bounce-back victory on Friday at Russell County after dropping both games of a district series against Casey County earlier in the week. The Lady Jumpers couldn't stop the offense of Russell County early on however and after surrendering eight runs over the first two innings, eventually fell in their third-straight contest 9-3.

Jazlynn Shadoan led the way for the Jumpers with three hits in four at-bats, getting one RBI and hitting a home run. Addy White and Baley Gretzner also added one RBI apiece. Sarah White added two hits, with Mollie Lucas and Grace Prichard adding one each. Gretzner and Lucas each added a stolen base. Addy White had the loss on the mound, pitching six innings and allowing nine runs on 13 hits with one walk. Russell County was led by two different batters with two RBI's apiece.

Somerset falls to 8-11 and will be back in action on Monday as they will travel to Pulaski for the beginning of a two-game district series.
