LaMelo Ball's triple-double leads Hornets' record-setting demolition of Pacers

Few teams have been as fun to watch on offense this season as the Charlotte Hornets (defense is another story), and things kicked into overdrive on Wednesday.

Powered by a LaMelo Ball triple-double and a 39-point night from Kelly Oubre, the Hornets blew the doors off the Indiana Pacers in a 158-126 win and set a half-dozen franchise records in the process. Here's our best attempt at listing them.

  • Most points in a game (158)

  • Most points in a half (87)

  • Most 3-pointers in a game (24)

  • Most points by a player off the bench (Oubre, 39)

  • Most 3-pointers made by a player (Oubre, 10)

  • Most triple-doubles in a season (Ball, with his fourth)

The Pacers also set a franchise record for most points allowed in a game.

Ball finished with 29 points on 11-of-16 shooting with 13 assists and 10 rebounds, while Oubre shot 12-of-18 from the field and and 10-of-15 from deep for his 39 points. Here's an example of what that looked like:

The Hornets, who have won five of their last six, entered the game second in the NBA in points per game with 114, behind only the Utah Jazz who were at 114.1. It is safe to say they will be higher when they enter their next game.
