Knicks’ Jalen Brunson, Nets’ Mikal Bridges to play for Team USA at 2023 FIBA World Cup
Team USA is putting together an elite group of young NBA talent for the FIBA World Cup this summer.
Knicks guard Jalen Brunson and Nets forward Mikal Bridges, according to multiple reports, are among the recent group of players who have committed to join the squad in late August.
Both players are coming off terrific campaigns in their first seasons in the Big Apple.
Brunson, who signed with the Knicks in free agency, was snubbed of an All-Star game appearance. He averaged 24 points, 6.2 assists, and 3.5 rebounds while shooting 49 percent from the field across 48 games.
Bridges was acquired from the Suns in the Kevin Durant deal ahead of the trade deadline. After never averaging more than 17.2 PPG in Phoenix, he finished his half season in Brooklyn producing 26.1 points per night.
They'll join a roster featuring Tyrese Haliburton, Anthony Edwards, Austin Reaves, and Bobby Portis.
