Jordan Addison is an elite NFL draft prospect, but how elite is he?

Jordan Addison won the Fred Biletnikoff Award in 2021 as the nation’s top wide receiver following a massive season in Pittsburgh.

He caught 17 touchdowns and racked up 1,593 receiving yards on 100 receptions before taking his talents to USC to play under prospective top 2024 draft pick Caleb Williams. During the 2022 season, Addison missed several games but still managed to lead the Trojans in receiving with 875 yards and nine touchdowns.

A comparative lack of size and strength raise questions about ability to make contested catches, but Addison is viewed as a dynamic route runner who applies his speed and change of direction to great advantage. He also averaged 15.4 yards on 12 punt returns in his last season at Pitt.

His 2021 numbers at Pitt (100 catches, 1,593 yards, 17 TDs) made him the third Panther to win the Biletnikoff Award along with Antonio Bryant and future Hall of Famer Larry Fitzgerald.

Vikings Wire analyst Tyler Forness wrote this about Addison:

“Addison is a tremendous football player. Some players just get the wide receiver position and he is one of them. He epitomizes it in so many ways, mainly his intelligence. He understands where to be and what to do.”

Forness added that “It isn’t just finding holes in zones, it’s everywhere. His route running though is something to behold. Being subtle in his movements and selling what he is doing to the defense.”

Forness rated Addison as his No. 2 receiver in the 2023 NFL draft class.
