Jerome Ford has high ankle sprain, could miss multiple games for Browns, per reports
BEREA — The ankle injury that sidelined Browns running back Jerome Ford late in Sunday's win at the Indianapolis Colts could keep him out for multiple games.
Multiple reports Monday evening indicated Ford sustained a "low-grade high ankle sprain" during the win over the Colts. A MRI performed on the ankle confirmed the injury, which could sideline him for a couple of games.

The Browns (4-2) will play at the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
Ford was injured early in the fourth quarter Sunday on a 6-yard loss on a first-and-10 play from the Indianapolis 47. The injury came two plays before quarterback PJ. Walker threw a a deep pass to Amari Cooper that was picked off by the Colts' Rodney Thomas II.
The second-year pro out of the University of Cincinnati rushed for 74 yards on 11 carries in the game. He gave the Browns a 7-0 lead early when he broke free for a 69-yard touchdown on the third play of the game.
Ford has rushed for 344 yards and two scores on 78 carries. He's also been an effective receiver, with 14 catches for 104 yards and two touchdowns.
Kareem Hunt, signed by the Browns after Nick Chubb's season-ending knee injury in Week 2, would be in line to gain more of the work in the running game in Ford's absence. Hunt, despite being questionable to play due to a thigh injury, ran for 31 yards and two touchdowns — including the go-ahead 1-yard touchdown with 15 seconds remaining — on 10 carries against the Colts.
Hunt has rushed for 103 yards and three touchdowns on 32 carries in four games since re-signing with the Browns. He had previously been an unrestricted free agent after his initial four-year stint with the team ended at the end of the 2022 season.
Pierre Strong Jr. also will likely receive more carries after having been acquired in an Aug. 27 trade with the New England Patriots. Strong ran for 25 yards on eight carries against Indianapolis, and has rushed for 102 yards on 14 carries this season.
