Jaguars owner Shahid Khan says Jalen Ramsey will play in Week 6

Jalen Ramsey and the Jacksonville Jaguars are patching things up for now.

Ramsey, who hasn’t played the past two weeks due to injuries, will take the field for the Jaguars in Week 6, according to team owner Shahid Khan.

Khan made that comment during an interview with The Street. When asked what it would take for Khan to trade Ramsey, Khan says Ramsey will play this week.

“Well, I think he’s going to be playing this week,” Khan says. “So hopefully you’ll tune in to the Saints game.”

A ‘heart-to-heart’ between Jalen Ramsey and Shad Khan

The team, which hosts New Orleans on Sunday, has ruled out Ramsey the past two weeks due to back and hamstring injuries, though there are other factors at play. Ramsey requested a trade in September and hasn’t backed down from that request.

Things may have changed recently. Khan says he met with Ramsey recently and the two had a “heart-to-heart.” Khan didn’t rule out a trade happening down the road, saying “I think we’ll be able to come to whatever makes sense for all.”

Since he was selected in the first round of the 2016 NFL draft, Ramsey has developed into one of the best cornerbacks in the league. He’s been named to the Pro Bowl two straight seasons, and made the All-Pro team in 2017.

That performance should make Ramsey a desirable asset for most teams, though Ramsey would cost quite a bit to acquire. Perhaps seeing Ramsey perform to his usual standard Sunday will convince teams to up their offers for the star cornerback.
