The Iowa State women’s basketball team is adding a national championship-winning forward to its roster.

Alisa Williams, a transfer from LSU, announced on Twitter Tuesday she was committing to Iowa State.

Williams, a 6-foot-2 forward from Denton Texas, appeared in 20 games off the bench for LSU during its championship season. She’s part of a roster overhaul for the Cyclones that will see a ton of new faces taking the court during the 2023-24 campaign.

The new roster includes incoming freshmen Jalynn Bristow, Addy Brown, Audi Crooks, Arianna Jackson and Kelsey Joens. The Cyclones also added transfers Isnelle Natabou and Hannah Belanger.

But Williams will have to wait her turn. She said Tuesday she will redshirt her first season at Iowa State after entering the transfer portal late.
