Iowa Hawkeyes boast third-most unanimous All-Americans in college football since 2010

The Iowa Hawkeyes have long been known for getting every ounce of talent from their players. They bring them in as under-recruited, overlooked players that have something to prove.

Iowa takes them in and turns them into All-American players. To be more precise, they turn them into unanimous All-American players and they do that with some of the best of them. In fact, the Iowa Hawkeyes have the third-most unanimous All-Americans in college football since 2010.

While the Alabama Crimson Tide are churning out All-Americans at an unbelievable pace, Iowa is keeping pace with the likes of Ohio State, Georgia, and LSU.

The most recent unanimous All-American for Iowa was linebacker Jack Campbell following the 2022 season. He extended the streak to three straight years that the Hawkeyes have had an unanimous All-American. Center Tyler Linderbaum made the cut in 2021 and defensive tackle Daviyon Nixon represented Iowa in 2020.

In 2017, Iowa saw two defenders earn recognition as unanimous All-Americans when cornerback Desmond King and linebacker Josey Jewell excelled. Cornerback Desmond King was a 2015 unanimous All-American and offensive lineman Brandon Scherff represented Iowa on the offensive side in 2014.

Iowa will look to continue the streak of unanimous All-Americans to four years in a row in 2023. If they can do that, it would not only extend that streak to four straight years but it would be the Hawkeyes’ 11th first-team All-American since 2010.
