Injury Report: Warriors’ Draymond Green (foot) ruled out on Christmas Day vs. Bucks

During the Golden State Warriorsblowout loss to the Brooklyn Nets on the opening night of the NBA season, it was clear Steve Kerr’s rotation missed Draymond Green.

The three-time All-Star missed Golden State’s opener after suffering an injury in his right foot during a practice scrimmage at training camp. Although Green traveled on Golden State’s opening road trip, the former Defensive Player of the Year has been ruled out for his second consecutive game to start the season.

In a post-practice call with members of the media on Wednesday, Kerr said Green wouldn’t play in on Christmas Day against the Milwaukee Bucks. After practicing with the team and working on his conditioning, Kerr said the hope is for Green to play in Chicago or Detroit.

He’s not going to play in Milwaukee. He had a really good workout today — practiced fully with the team and did a session after practice on his own for conditioning. We will see how he responds tomorrow, but he won’t play in Milwaukee. The hope is that he will play in Chicago or Detroit.

After playing on Christmas Day, the Warriors will continue their road trip with stops in Chicago and Detroit before returning to Chase Center in San Francisco.

Without Green against Brooklyn, Kerr opted to use a combination of Eric Paschall and Juan Toscano-Anderson. Although Paschall started the game, Toscano-Anderson was put in the starting lineup for the second half.

Paschall finished the game with six points on 2-of-6 shooting with a rebound and a block in 22 minutes. Toscano-Anderson added four points on 2-of-2 shooting with four boards, two assists and two blocks in 13 minutes.

The Warriors tipoff against the Bucks on Christmas Day at 11:30 a.m. PST.
