No surprises for Indiana football on 2024 national signing day

BLOOMINGTON — Indiana football coach Curt Cignetti and his coaching staff spent much of January on the road recruiting, but fans won't see the fruits of their labor until next year's national signing day.

The Hoosiers aren't expected to sign any additional players on Wednesday after adding 36 players (16 high school signees) since taking over.

Indiana signed 24 players on early signing day including eight mid-year transfers. That number more than doubled in the weeks that followed with the Hoosiers signing eight more JMU transfers including 1,000-yard receiver Elijah Sarratt, multiple defensive backs (Terry Jones and Shawn Asbury) and another running back.

Those transfers are all participating in the team's winter workouts.

The lone holdout from early signing day was three-star Carmel defensive back Christian Peterson, but he isn't expected to be part of the class.
