HOJGA sets its youth clinic golf date, plus finds sponsors for 2024 tournaments

MARION — The Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association urges interested junior golfers in Crawford, Delaware, Hardin, Marion, Morrow, Union and Wyandot counties aged 9 to 18 to sign up for its annual golf clinic.

It will be held June 6 at Determined Brilliance Driving Range at 1984 Smeltzer Road in Marion. The clinic starts at 8 a.m. and will include a discussion on golf etiquette plus professional instruction from Steve Grimes on the fundamentals of the golf swing. After instruction, a discussion on rules of golf will be held with lunch winding up the session at 12 p.m.

More on HOJGA for 2024: Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association gearing up for its 38th summer of tournaments

Each camper will receive a handout packet with logo bag tag, towel and booklet. The cost is $17 plus $5 membership. Clubs for Kids are available for juniors needing clubs.

HOJGA also has its sponsors lined up the upcoming tournaments: June 3 at Three Sticks with Pam Hartman of Milford Center (in Memory of Charles Emans); June 11 at Marion Country Club with the M Development Group and Modern Woodman of America in Marion; June 19 at Marysville with the Stephen J. Chaney VFW Post 7201 of Marion;  June 27 at Veterans Memorial in Kenton with MCI dba McCullough Industries of Kenton; July 1 at Golf Club of Bucyrus with Crossroads Original Designs of Bucyrus; July 11 at Kings Mill with the Y-Men Service Club, and Marion and Dr. Paul & Kelly Culler of Waldo; and July 15 at Valley View with Dave & Patty Ault of Bucyrus.

Sixteen scholarships will be offered to junior golfers this season as previously announced. The scholarships will be presented at the Year-End Awards Banquet on July 25 at Kings Mill.
