High school football roundup: Madison keeps rolling with win over Jefferson

Oct. 6—Madison continued its hot streak, winning its seventh game in a row with a 44-7 win at Jefferson.

Carson Alley ran for three touchdowns, Sonny Salajcik ran for two and the Blue Streaks improved to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in the CVC Lake Division.

Jefferson's only touchdown came on a 50-yard fumble recovery by Kaige Boczar. Madison held Jefferson to 66 yards total offense.

Madison faces Geneva next week in a matchup of 7-1 teams that are also 3-0 in league play.

—Justin Phillips ran for 182 yards and a touchdown and Jack Hastings caught a touchdown pass as Berkshire defeated Crestwood, 35-24.

Berkshire (4-4) led 7-6 at the half before the teams explosed offensively in the second half. The Badgers host Grand Valley in Week 9.

—Josh Styles ran for 273 yards and two touchdowns as Lake Catholic defeated Erie (Pa.), 41-28.

Lake Catholic (7-1) got 167 passing yards and four touchdowns from QB Frankie Trinetti. D.J. Sears caught two touchdown passes, with Ace Peterlin and Styles each catching one.

Lake plays Walsh Jesuit in Week 9.

—Donovan Moorhead threw three touchdown passes and Jordan Johnson scored three TDs on the ground to go with 101 rushing yards in Hawken's 47-13 win over Orange. Hawken is now 5-3 and plays Chagrin Falls in Week 9.

—Will Francis ran for 168 yards and three touchdowns as Chardon defeated Mayfield, 49-7. Drago Vujaklija scored two times, while Caleb Hewitt and Drayton Allgood scored once each for the Hilltoppers, who are 5-3 and host North next week.
