Green Bay Packers invite former Wisconsin OLB to local prospect day

Former Wisconsin outside linebacker C.J. Goetz received an invite to the Green Bay Packers’ local prospect day, according to KPRC’s Aaron Wilson.

Goetz’s six-year Wisconsin career recently concluded at the end of the 2023 season. The three-star recruit in the class of 2018 finishes his collegiate career with 148 total tackles, 24.5 tackles for loss, 9.0 sacks, one interception, four pass deflections and one forced fumble. His best year came as a starter in 2023 in the first year of Luke Fickell’s defense — when he recorded 60 tackles, 11.0 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks.

Goetz is projected to be signed as an undrafted free agent after the upcoming NFL Draft. He did not receive an invite to the recent NFL Combine, but did participate in Wisconsin’s pro day earlier this month.

The Packers’ local prospect day is designed for collegiate players who finished their careers somewhere near the team’s facilities — Madison, Wisconsin obviously fitting that criteria.

Goetz is among a large number of former Wisconsin Badgers who are hopeful their name is called late in April.
