Golfers from seven schools compete in event at the Whetstone Creek Golf Course in Milbank

MILBANK — Carly Guthmiller of Groton Area won medalist honors and Madison captured the team title in the POET Girls Golf Invitational on Monday at the Whetstone Creek Golf Course.

Guthmiller shot an 85 to win lead the field of individuals by five shots.

Madison shot 399 and won the team title by 28 shots over Groton Area.

Team Scores: Madison 399, Groton Area 427, Aberdeen Roncalli 438, Milbank 468. Redfield, Sisseton and Tiospa Zina did not have complete teams.
