A GoFundMe campaign has been established for former Roger Bacon High School and Miami University basketball standout Jamie Mahaffey, who led North College Hill to three consecutive Division III titles from 2005 to 2007.

Organizer Butch Carter wrote in the fundraiser description that Mahaffey "is in a crucial fight against advanced heart failure," requiring a heart transplant.

Mahaffey's daughter, Danielle, played volleyball at Tennessee.

Mahaffey's son, Evan, starred at Moeller High School and transferred last year from Penn State to Ohio State. He's averaging 3.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 21.8 minutes per game for the Buckeyes this season.

Evan's younger brother, Eric, is a senior for the Crusaders who committed to Akron.
