Girls basketball NJSIAA state tournament schedule, scores, updates
The road for a girls basketball state championship starts Wednesday for teams in New Jersey, and the Shore has a good amount of teams that made the NJSIAA playoffs - 38 in all.

Final Round (Friday), Central, Group 4
Howell 48, Hightstown 25
Gabrielle Carpenter led the Rebels with 14 points, while Kiera McKown came in second in scoring with 11. Howell won their first section title in program history.

Manasquan 55, New Providence 44
Olivia Shaughnessy led the Warriors in scoring with 16 points. Katie Collins had a solid game with 13 points and nine rebounds, six assists, and three blocks.
Final Round (Saturday) Central, Group 1
Shore 44, Middlesex 36
Junior Kimi Sayson led the Blue Devils with 13 points, four assists and rebounds. Leading scorer Reese Fiore had nine boards and points in their Group 1 win.
Final Round (Monday) South Non-Public A
Red Bank Catholic 44, Paul VI 26
The Caseys defense was lockdown in the second half only letting up three points. The first half was a back-and-forth matchup with nine lead changes. Addy Nyemchek led with 13 points and nine boards for RBC.

Hightstown 58, Jackson Memorial 41
Howell 45, South Brunswick 42
Kylee Beam led the Rebels with 12 points and Kiera McKown finished with nine points to help them advance to the finals against Hightstown.

Manasquan 56, Rumson-Fair Haven 39
After going into the half tied at 26, Manasquan junior Shea Donnelly knocked down two big three-pointers for the Warriors in the winning effort. Hope Masonius also finished with 17 points and led the team in scoring.
Middle Township 61, Manchester Twp. 51
Quigley ended her high school career as the Shore's all-time leading scorer with 2,627 career points. The NC State commit also scored 14 points in her final high school game.

Shore 42, New Egypt 20
Kimi Sayson finished with 12 points an nine rebounds for the Blue Devils to help them advance to the final round. Conley Smolokoff also had 12 points for Shore.

Red Bank Catholic 59, St. John Vianney 51
Despite RBC's Addy Nyemchek going down in the third quarter, the Caseys still manage to pull it out thanks to tough shots from Tessa Carman (12 points) and Christina Liggio (14 points). Caseys ended their losing streak against top opponents.

St. Rose 46, Ranney 43
Sophomore Jada Lynch led the Purple Roses with 20 points and 13 rebounds, Brooke Missry finished with nine points. Ashley Kreiger finished with 15 points and seven boards for Ranney.

Jackson Memorial 49, Freehold Township 41
Senior Chelsea Lavezzo led the Jagars with 12 points and five steals. Isabella Finer got a double-double (10 points, 15 rebounds) in their quarterfinals win.
Howell 45, Middletown South 39
Veronica Nieves led Howell with 17 points, plus the Rebels' 20-point fourth quarter helped them secure the win.

Wall 64, Voorhees 42
Senior Shayne Eldridge dropped 30 for Wall to go along with Aileen Carr's double-double (10 points, 12 rebounds) to help advance to the semifinals.
Rumson-Fair Haven 52, Holmdel 45
Allison Cannon's 13 points and Mackenzie Teevan's double-double (10 points, 13 rebounds) wasn't enough for the Hornets to move past the Bulldogs. Sylvie Notine led R-FH with 20 points and Raquel Guidetti had 13 points.
Manasquan 69, Metuchen 19
Grace Love's 13 points led the Warriors, plus Penn commit Katie Collins added 10 points to advance their team to the semifinals.

Red Bank Regional 73, Carterret 28
Bucs senior Camryn Gardner finished with 12 points and nine rebounds. Fellow big and junior Caroline Polloway had 12 points and seven rebounds for RBR.
Neptune 37, Somerville 35
Majiah Quarles hit key free throws to lift Neptune over Somerville in the fourth quarter, she finished with two points. Bre Evans had 15 points and eight rebounds for the Scarlet Fliers.
Ocean Twp. 51, Brick Mem. 16
Ocean's lockdown defense made prevented Brick from scoring double digits in any quarter. Gamila Betton finished with 12 points and rebounds for Ocean.

Point Pleasant Beach 42, Manville 28
Erin Frauenheim and Kaitlyn Hard each led beach with 10 points in their quarterfinals win.
Shore 80, Highland Park 54
Junior Reese Fiore finished with 39 points to send the Blue Devils back to the semifinals for the third straight time which is a school record. Fiore also scored her 1,000th career point.

St. John Vianney 68, Pingry 30
Madison Kocis' 19 points plus Stella Lockhart's double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds) will have the Lancers and Caseys square off in the semifinals for the first time this season.

Red Bank Catholic 75, Mount St. Mary 25
Katie Liggio and Addy Nyemchek each shared a 14-point game in a Caseys win to advance them to the semifinals.

St. Rose 76, Holy Spirit 34
Sophomore Jada Lynch dropped 26 points for the Purple Roses to go along with 10 rebounds. Cassidy Kruesi finished with 12 points for St. Rose.
Ranney 52, Wildwood Catholic 50
It took overtime, but Ranney was able to pull the game out thanks to Haley Poser's 21 points to lead the way.
Central, Group 4 (begins Wednesday)

(12) Freehold Township 45, (5) East Brunswick 37
Gaby Parker led the Patriots with 14 points and eight steals. Her teammate Madison Sciarrino finished with 12 points and seven rebounds. Freehold Twp. closed the game out with an 18-9 fourth quarter.
(4) Jackson Memorial 54, (13) West Windsor-Plainsboro North 32
The 17-6 Jaguars began their state tournament quest with a blowout over the Knights.
(3) Monroe 53, (14) Long Branch 32
(10) Middletown South 62, (7) Princeton 57
Caitlin Whyte led the Eagles to a first round win with 25 points and seven rebounds. Cassidy Brown and Erin Mayerhofer each finished with 10 points for Middletown South.
(2) Howell 55, (15) West Windsor-Plainsboro South 11
Howell put on a defensive clinic in the third quarter when they held their opponent scoreless. Kiera McKown led the team with 17 points. Kylee Beam and Veronica Nieves each finished with 11 points for Howell.
South, Group 4 (begins Wednesday)
(9) Toms River East 37, (8) Atlantic Tech 24
Sydney Murphy led TRE with 11 points, and Kaleigh Fitzgibbons was right behind with 10 points. It was a low scoring game but the Raiders pulled it out.
(3) Cherokee 44, (14) Toms River North, 28
(7) Southern 43, (10) Eastern 37
Southern's Skylar Soltis had a double-double with 10 points and 12 boards. Casey Collins led the Rams in points with 18 and also had five rebounds. Lindsey Kelly had seven steals as well for Southern.
Central, Group 2 (begins Wednesday)
(1) New Providence 63, (16) Point Pleasant Boro 28
(5) Wall 73, (12) Bound Brook 38
Senior Emily Tvrdik finished with 17 points, eight rebounds, and six assists in their win. Shayne Eldridge and Aileen Carr each had 12 points for the Crimson Knights.
(3) Rumson-Fair Haven 51, (14) Johnson 27
The Bulldogs had a complete team effort in their first round playoff win. Abby Boyle was scoreless but finished with 11 rebounds. Raquel Guidetti and Ella Mason each scored 11 points, while Sylvie Notine led in scoring with 15 points. Erin Reid had eight boards and points.
(11) Holmdel 71, (6) Spotswood 50
Three Holmdel players finished with a double-double against Spotswood. NJIT commit Allison Cannon had a solid performance with 24 points and 10 assists for the Hornets. Mackenzie Teevan also had a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Jamie DeCicco finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
(2) Manasquan 60, (15) Monmouth 31
The Warriors continued their defensive dominance forcing Monmouth to score only double digits for three straight quarters. Penn commit Katie Collins finished with 13 points. Amaya Harris had 11 points for Monmouth.
South, Group 2 (begins Wednesday)
(3) Manchester Township 77, (14) Overbrook 43
NC State commit Devyn Quigley finished with 35 points to become the Shore's all-time leading scorer beating out Kelly Hughe's record of 2,588 career points.

Central, Group 3 (begins Thursday)
(8) Colts Neck 38, (9) Hopewell Valley 26
Savannah Butz made up half of the total scoring for the cougars with 19 points in their first round win. Julianna Kowaleski finished with 13 points for Colts Neck.
(4) Red Bank Regional 68, (13) Freehold Borough 36
Sophomore Zoe Gulley knocked down four three-pointers for the Bucs and finished with 15 points. Riley Wheeler also finished with 15 points, Camryn Gardner finished with 12 points and six rebounds for RBR.
(6) Neptune 43, (11) Middletown North 21
Lone senior Jocelyn Jackson led Neptune with 19 points. Bre Evans finished with 13 points and seven boards for the Scarlet Fliers.
(10 Brick Memorial 44, (7) Steinert 35
Kayla Herzer had an explosive performance with 17 points and rebounds. Gianna Livio finished with seven points and 13 rebounds on the game for Brick.
(2) Ocean Township 64, (15) Brick Township 35
Le Moyne commit Eli Clark finished with 15 points and nine rebounds, her sister Kayden had 17 points.

Point Pleasant held South Amboy to a scoreless second quarter which helped them gain a lead going into halftime 28-2. Erin Frauenheim led the team with 14 points.
(3) Shore 78, (14) Florence 24
Reese Fiore finished with 26 points, 12 of which came from behind the arc. But it was the Blue Devils' defense that helped them with the win, holding Florence to scoring single digits in every quarter.
(7) New Egypt 50, (10) Keyport 24
South Non-Public A (begins Friday)
(1) Red Bank Catholic, bye
(5) Pingry 73, (12) Donovan Catholic 13
(4) St. John Vianney 65, (13) Camden Catholic 20
Lancers' 6-foot-4 Taylor Sofilkanich finished with 11 points and 12 rebounds in their blowout win. Stella Lockhart led the team with 13 points and SJV hit seven deep shots as a collective.

Maggie Kerr finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Purple Roses. Sophomore Jada Lynch led in the scoring department with 15 points and also had nine boards.
