Gibbs Elementary students march in their own Thanksgiving Day parade

CANTON – Gibbs Elementary students walked in their own version of the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade Tuesday.

The students learned about the tradition through the book "Balloons over Broadway" and set out to create their own version by making balloons, floats and musical instruments as part of a schoolwide science, technology, engineering, arts and math project.

The parade was complete with Principal Erika Irwin taking the role of parade announcer and an appearance from Santa Claus.
