Giants CB Adoree’ Jackson: Daniel Jones is a ‘silent assassin’
Adoree’ Jackson didn’t really know Daniel Jones prior to signing with the New York Giants, but since then, the third-year quarterback has left quite the impression.
While sitting down with Steve Serby of the New York Post for a weekend Q&A, Jackson was asked about Jones and his answer was quite telling.
“Silent assassin. He just puts his head down, carries his lunch pail and just go to work,” Jackson said.
Jones is very much the second coming of Eli Manning in terms of his work ethic and quiet demeanor. Now he’s just got to go out and win a couple of Lombardi Trophies to round things out.
Meanwhile, Jackson had great things to say about Giants defensive coordinator Patrick Graham, who is often widely praised by his players for an impressive intellect.
“He’s a cool cat, being able to relate, and that’s a good thing to have, somebody that’s relatable to you as not just a player but as a person,” Jackson.
Jackson also addressed what motivates him on a daily basis and it’s not only the fear of failure, but the fear of letting people down.
“What drives me is fear. Like the fear of letting my parents down, the fear of letting my city down,” Jackson said. “And the other one was like understanding with the talent that I have it can be taken away at any moment. My mom was always telling me: ‘The Lord gave it to you. He can take it away.’ So those were the two things that drove me, understanding that I need to maximize all the talents and abilities that the Lord gave me, because if I’m not, then I’m wasting them.”
So, what are the Giants and their fans getting in Jackson? Someone who is going to give this new city his all.
“As a player, a guy that’s gonna compete and give it his all, and as a person, a God-fearing man who’s just hoping to serve and can help others,” Jackson said.
