Georgia high school baseball playoffs: These 4 Athens-area teams are still in the hunt

The first round of high school baseball playoffs is in the books.

Only four GHSA Athens-area teams saw their seasons end, including Athens Christian, East Jackson and Oglethorpe County. Apalachee had to go to a third game after splitting the first two with East Paulding but fell just short in game 3 (8-2).

Everyone else is advancing, still in the hunt for a state championship in 2024. Here are the Athens-area programs still alive and their opponents for next week.

The second rounds begin with doubleheaders on Monday with a game, if necessary, on Tuesday.
