Georgia freshman DB Julian Humphrey returning to Bulldogs after considering visits to Texas A&M and Texas

If you blinked, you might’ve missed it. Georgia redshirt freshman defensive back Julian Humphrey was In-N-Out of the NCAA Transfer Portal quicker than the California burger chain’s drive-thru service.

For a brief 21 hours, Humphrey weighed his options outside of Athens. However, according to Rusty Mansell, publisher of DawgsHQ which is a part of On3 Sports, the former 4-star recruit out of Clear Lake High School in Webster, Texas is returning to play for Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart.

“I have a huge opportunity at Georgia,” Humphrey told Mansell. “I know with a great year at Georgia, I can get to the NFL. The more I thought about this, why would I leave Georgia for a couple more bucks?”

The 6-foot, 190-pound cornerback had planned to visit Texas A&M and the University of Texas this upcoming weekend.

“First and foremost I would like to thank the man above for the countless opportunities that have come to me,” Humphrey stated Tuesday night on X. “I have prayed about this and asked God to help lead me to the right decision.

“After careful consideration, I will be entering the transfer portal with three years left of eligibility.

“12- Julian Humphrey”
