Gastonia, Shelby area high school fall sports top performers for Week 11 of 2023 season

Thursday, Oct. 26
Riley Decker, Highland Tech: Had 16 digs in a 3-0 win over Gray Stone Day.
Alise Mayes, Highland Tech: Led her team with 11 kills.
Isabelle Simmons, Highland Tech: Had 22 assists.
Myracle Davis, Kings Mountain: Had 10 kills and five blocks.
Alexa Jones, Kings Mountain: Had 13 digs, four blocks, five kills and an assist in a 3-0 win over Lake Norman Charter.
Jessie Ozmore, Kings Mountain: Had 12 digs.
Camden Pasour, Kings Mountain: Had 35 assists and 11 digs.

Noelle Martin, Highland Tech: Won 6-0, 6-3 in No. 3 singles.
Misha Singh, Highland Tech: Won 6-2, 6-4 in No. 6 singles.
Katelin Vaher, Highland Tech: Won 6-3, 6-2 in No. 2 singles.

Emma Carver, North Lincoln: Won 7-6 (7-4), 6-0 in No. 1 singles. The Lady Knights advanced in the 3A West playoffs with a 5-2 win over North Buncombe.
Natalie Gore, North Lincoln: Won 6-2, 6-4 in No. 2 singles.
Lulu King, North Lincoln: Won 6-0, 6-0 in No. 3 singles. She also won 8-3 in No. 2 doubles with teammate Ella Wuffhorst.
Ella Wuffhorst, North Lincoln: Won 6-1, 6-2 in No. 6 singles. She also won 8-3 in No. 2 doubles with teammate Lulu King.
Annalise Bradley, Shelby: Won 6-3, 6-4 in No. 6 singles. She also won 8-4 in No. 2 doubles with partner Jasmine Martin. The Lady Lions advanced to the regional semifinal round of the 2A West duals tournament with a 7-2 win over West Lincoln.
Ella Hensley, Shelby: Won 6-4, 6-1 in No. 3 singles. She also won 8-4 in No. 2 doubles with partner Delaney Pless.
Delaney Pless, Shelby: Won 6-1, 6-2 in No. 4 singles. She also won 8-4 in No. 2 doubles with partner Ella Hensley.
Anna Schweppe, Shelby: Won 6-1, 6-1 in No. 1 singles. She also earned an 8-3 win in No. 1 doubles with partner Caroline Curtis.
Kennedy McCumber, West Lincoln: Won 7-5, 6-4 in No. 5 singles. The Lady Rebels fell to Shelby in the third round of the 2A West duals tournament.
Laura Willis, West Lincoln: Won 6-3, 5-7, 10-8 in No. 2 singles.

Kaliyah Watson, Kings Mountain: FInished 17th at the NCHSAA 3A West regional after shooting a 96 at Springdale Resort in Canton.
Kyla Callahan, East Lincoln: Shot an 89 at the NCHSAA 3A West regional, good for an eighth-place finish.
Madison Pruden, South Point: Finished seventh at the NCHSAA 3A West regional, shooting an 85 at Springdale Resort in Canton. The Lady Raiders wound up third with a team result of 278. Aiding the effort included Chloe Villareal (94) and Sophia Travenski (99).
Audrey Leazer, Stuart Cramer: Tied for 21st at the NCHSAA 3A West regional after shooting a 99.
Girls tennis
Arowen Caldwell, Highland Tech: Won 6-0, 6-0 in No. 5 singles. The Rams won 6-0 in their NCHSAA 1A second round dual matchup.

Girls golf
Leah Cole, Burns: Shot an 88 to finish 13th at the NCHSAA 1A/2A West regional at Meadowbrook Golf Course in Rutherfordton.
Raelyn Hilton, East Gaston: Finished 25th after shooting a 101 at the NCHSAA 1A/2A West regional at Meadowbrook Golf Course in Rutherfordton.
Kaeden Becker, Lincoln Charter: Shot a 93 at the NCHSAA 1A/2A West regional at Meadowbrook Golf Course in Rutherfordton, finishing 18th. Lincoln Charter placed fourth as a team, tallying a score of 295. In addition to Becker, the Eagles were led by Kaylyn Cherry (99) and Ayla Johnson (103).
Melony Hoffman, West Lincoln: Led her team with a 83 at the NCHSAA 1A/2A West regional at Meadowbrook Golf Course in Rutherfordton. As a team, the Lady Rebels finished third overall with a score of 267. Along with Hoffman, teammates Aynsley Howard (91) and Taylor Turner (93) also contributed to the effort.
