For the first time since three tornadoes hammered Tallahassee on May 10, the Florida State baseball team plays at home tonight, opening a season-ending three-game series against Georgia Tech.
The damage Friday to Dick Howser Stadium, the home of No. 10 FSU (37-13, 15-11 in ACC), included a toppled screen and bent foul pole in right field. The Seminoles are looking to bolster their NCAA tournament résumé to host a regional in two weeks. Georgia Tech (30-19, 14-13) is looking to set itself up for a run in next week's ACC tournament.
Tonight's probable starters are Jamie Arnold (8-3, 2.27 ERA) for the Seminoles and Aedan Finateri (5-2, 5.89 ERA) for the Yellow Jackets. Arnold was a tough-luck loser last week against Pittsburgh with a career-high 17 strikeouts over seven innings. Finateri has given up a combined 14 runs (13 earned) over his last two starts, though he struck out seven over 3⅓ innings last week at Duke.
