Friday's prep highlights: Peoples, Keleminic help Blue Devils past Storm

Feb. 10—In boys' basketball

➜ Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin 68, Salt Fork 37. Twenty points from Keison Peoples and 12 points from Caden Keleminic helped the Blue Devils (26-3) beat the host Storm (16-10) in Vermilion Valley Conference play, with Evan Webb's 23-point effort pacing Salt Fork.

➜ Blue Ridge 61, Heritage 51. Corbin Colbert and Isaac Price scored 12 points apiece to key the Blue Devils (15-10) to a Lincoln Prairie Conference win; Zach Lewis added 11 points. The host Hawks (3-24) were led by Rylan White's 14 points.

➜ Cerro Gordo/Bement 63, Tri-County 46. Tyson Moore's 25-point performance lifted the Broncos (12-16) past the Titans, with Will Fuson adding 13 points to cement the LPC victory. Braxton Buckler led the Titans (5-22) with 17 points.

➜ Flanagan-Cornell 60, LeRoy 52. Sam Edmundson compiled 24 points, Brycen Umstattdt added 10 points and Jasper Tarr added eight points in a Heart of Illinois Conference loss for LeRoy (10-15).

➜ Heyworth 60, Fisher 31. Ryan Hopkins scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds while Dayton Lutz scored seven points in an HOIC setback for the Bunnies (5-19).

➜ Hoopeston Area 64, Georgetown/Ridge Farm 33. Mason Rush scored 18 points and Wyatt Eisenmann added 15 points to help the Cornjerkers (19-10) past the host Buffaloes (5-23) in VVC play. Jase Latoz led the Buffaloes with 12 points.

➜ Monticello 50, St. Thomas More 43. The host Sages (13-12) gained an 18-14 halftime advantage during an Illini Prairie Conference triumph over the Sabers, with Trey Welter totalling 19 points and Ike Young compiling nine points. Wilson Kirby (11 points) and Peace Bumba and Owen Yeager (10 points apiece) led STM.

➜ Oakwood 75, Schlarman 39. Alec Harrison and Jackson Dudley helped the Comets (23-7) drop the Hilltoppers (2-17) in VVC play; Harrison scored 18 points and Dudley added 17 points. Peyton Kuemmerle's game-high 20-point outing led Schlarman.

➜ Okaw Valley 53, Argenta-Oreana 47. Eighteen points from Ethan Mahan and 14 points from Jalynn Flowers weren't enough to help the Bombers (17-10) earn an LPC win against the host Timberwolves.

➜ Peoria Manual 72, Urbana 48. Illinois recruit Dieterich Richardson's 27-point effort helped the Rams past the host Tigers (10-12) in a Big 12 Conference game, with Marcus Jackson's 12 points leading Urbana.

➜ Peoria Richwoods 62, Danville 36. Despite 16 points from JaVaugn Robinson and 10 points from CL Dye in a Big 12 game, the host Vikings (9-16) were unable to overcome an attack that included 15 points from Rutgers signee Lathan Sommerville.

➜ Tuscola 78, St. Teresa 58. Kam Sweetnam's 25 points, Jordan Quinn's 15 points and Josiah Hortin's 11 points keyed the host Warriors (22-5) in a nonconference win.

➜ Watseka 71, Cissna Park 55. Myles Lynch poured in 33 points and Evan LaBelle tallied 20 points to lift the host Warriors (14-13) over the Timberwolves (8-21) in a nonconference game. Seth Walder led Cissna Park with 28 points while Dierks Neukomm added 22 points.

Champaign Central's Talin Baker qualified for the semifinal round at 113 pounds, as did Centennial's Andon Beldo (126), Danville's Ty Rangel (132), Mahomet-Seymour's Talon Decker (138), Champaign Central's Ronald Baker III (144), Mahomet-Semour's Gage Decker (157), Danville's Phillip Shaw IV (175), M-S' Noah Daniels (215) and Centennial's Jack Barnhart (285).

➜ At Olympia. ➜ At Vandalia. Oakwood/Salt Fork Steven Uden advanced at 106 to set the tone for seven O/SF to advance; teammates Braden Edwards (113), Carter Chambliss (144), Grant Brewer (150), Bryson Capansky (157), Dalton Brown (175) and Jamison Chambliss (190) kept their seasons alive as well. Westvillle's Gabriel Kiddoo also advanced at 165.
