Forward Madison FC supporters won't need ESPN+ to watch the only outdoor professional soccer team in the state – at least for one game.

On Thursday the club announced it was going to have a match broadcast nationally on ESPN2 at 2 p.m. June 15 against South Georgia Tormenta FC. The match will be at home at Breese Stevens Field.

Conor Caloia, chief operating officer for Forward Madison, said having the game on ESPN2 "fills us with immense pride."

"This moment signifies not only the growth and recognition of our club, but also the passion and dedication of our amazing fans. We are thrilled to showcase our match day atmosphere in Madison on a national stage," Caloia said in a statement. "It's a testament to the hard work and commitment of everyone involved, and we're excited to share this special moment with fans across the country."

Tickets for the match are on sale from about $25 to $65. And for $28, fans can buy a special ticket package that includes an FMFC t-shirt in the style of the "ESPN" font.

Forward Madison plays in USL League One, the third-highest level of professional soccer in the United States behind Major League Soccer and USL Championship.

Previously fans could watch the games on ESPN+, which requires a subscription.

This season the club is preparing for another nationally televised match on July 3 on CBS Sports Network. Forward Madison will be on the road to take on the Richmond Kickers at 7 p.m. in the Henny Derby, which celebrates the fandom of Black supporters in the sport.

With a regular-season record of 2 wins and 3 draws, Forward Madison is one of only a few unbeaten teams in the league and is in sixth place with 9 points.

The Greenville Triumph SC is on top of the table with 13 points, but in the first two matches Forward Madison played the team to a 0-0 draw on March 23 and more recently beat Greenville 3-2 with a exciting stoppage-time goal from Juan Galindrez on May 4.

Forward Madison is on the road the next three matches but returns home May 25 to play One Knoxville SC at 6 p.m.
