Former Jackson State women’s basketball player Ti’lan Boler transfers to Memphis

The Jackson State women’s basketball team and new coach Margaret Richards lost a key contributor in Ti’lan Boler, who had entered the transfer portal in mid-April and committed to Memphis women’s basketball on Monday.

The move was announced on the Memphis women’s basketball website.

“Tilly is an addition that we considered priority,” Memphis coach Alex Simmons said. “She is a versatile guard with great size and high basketball IQ. Her love for the game is infectious and I can’t wait to add her skillset and tenacity to our team.”

Boler led JSU in scoring her senior year with 387 points and averaging 12.1 points per game. She also made All-SWAC first team the past two seasons. In JSU's first-round NCAA Tournament 86-64 loss to UConn, she scored 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

Boler, a 6-foot-1 guard, is three points shy of 1,000 in her career, and has one year of eligibility left. She has played in 115 games and averaged 8.6 points and 3.5 rebounds.

After the season was over, Boler entered the transfer portal. On April 25, JSU coach Tomekia Reed left to coach at Charlotte.
