DeSean Jackson is getting into coaching.

However, the former Philadelphia Eagle star wide receiver isn’t coming to Camden.

A recent post on X by @_MLFootball said Jackson was “hired to be Woodrow Wilson’s high school’s WR Coach and punt return specialist.”

That created a buzz in the local football community, with some thinking Jackson was going to teach some of his pass-catching abilities in South Jersey. Those who believed that truly dropped the ball.

Unfortunately, this Woodrow Wilson High School is located in Long Beach, Ca., the same town where Jackson grew up before playing his college ball at University of California, Berkeley.

Eastside, the local high school on Federal Street in Camden, formally changed its name from Woodrow Wilson in 2022. It was named after the 28th President of the United States when it opened in 1930.

Woodrow Wilson (Ca.) athletic director Warren Smitheran confirmed by email on Monday that Jackson was hired as an assistant coach under head coach Travis Clark.

According to MaxPreps, the Bruins went 4-6 last season.

Jackson played 15 seasons in the National Football League, eight in two different stints with the Eagles. He was a three-time All-Pro with the Birds, catching 35 of his career 58 touchdown catches with the team.
