Florida QB Feleipe Franks took the rare step of appearing to tell his own fans to be quiet after scoring touchdowns against South Carolina.

Franks scored on a run and immediately made what looks to be a shushing gesture multiple times after tying the game at 14-14 in the second quarter.

He did it again after scoring the game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter of the 35-31 Gator victory.

Franks has been a target of scorn by many Gator fans. He was booed and replaced by Kyle Trask in Florida’s loss to Missouri a week ago. Trask might have even replaced him as the team’s starting quarterback on Saturday. But Trask suffered a broken foot in practice during the week and Franks kept his job as the team’s starter.

Franks has completed 56 percent of his passes in the first nine games of the season with 16 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Florida entered Saturday’s game on a two-game losing streak. The Gators lost to Georgia before losing by three touchdowns to the Tigers. But thanks to a win over LSU, Florida was No. 15 in Tuesday’s College Football Playoff rankings.
