Florida interviewing Duke's Roper

Florida coach Will Muschamp was scheduled to interview Duke offensive coordinator Kurt Roper for the Gators' job Monday, according to multiple reports.

Florida is seeking a new offensive coordinator. The Gators fired Brent Pease after finishing 4-8 this season with a struggling offense.

Roper was a finalist for the Broyles Award, which honors the top collegiate assistant coach. Michigan State's Pat Narduzzi won the award this year.

Roper has served under Blue Devils coach David Cutcliffe since 2008 as offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach/assistant head coach since 2008. He also worked under Cutcliffe at Mississippi for several years, including mentoring quarterback Eli Manning, now starring for the New York Giants.

Roper was an assistant at Kentucky as quarterbacks coach in 2005 and running backs coach at Tennessee in 2006-2007.
