Florida football coaches visit 2024 commits ahead of Week 2

The Florida Gators football team has been preparing for the home opener against McNeese State all week, but the coaching staff still has recruiting to worry about. Here’s where the coaching staff will be this weekend.

Darnell Stapleton, UF’s assistant offensive line coach, will visit three-star Charles Herbert Flowers (Upper Marlboro, Maryland) offensive tackle commit Mike Williams. Florida flipped Williams from South Carolina after a brief commitment over the summer. Williams doesn’t play until Monday, according to MaxPreps, so Stapleton shouldn’t miss too much game prep.

Running backs coach Jabbar Juluke headed back to Louisiana to check out John Eret (Marrero) cornerback Wardell Mack, a four-star recruit who committed to the Gators in August. John Ehret lost 24-7 against Destrehan, and Mack sat for most of the fourth quarter due to a reported full-body cramp. Texas is the team that’s still making a push for him, but Florida is keeping close to Mack.

Finally, inside linebackers coach Jay Bateman saw four-star linebacker Adarius Hayes and the Largo Cowboys take down Boca Ciega, 33-10, on Friday.
