Father of Park Hill alum Ronnie Bell cheering 49ers son in Super Bowl LVIII
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One player on the San Francisco 49ers is getting ready to play his home team in the Super Bowl.
Wide receiver Ronnie Bell, a graduate of Park Hill High School, was drafted to San Francisco during this year’s NFL Draft in Kansas City.
FOX4 spoke to his father ahead of his son playing the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

“There’s a lot of Chiefs fans in the barbershop,” Aaron Bell said. “It’s been like this for years.”
You know, not everybody’s rooting for KC in KC but Aaron Bell’s got a really good reason. Bell’s son Ronnie plays for the 49ers.
“Yeah we’re definitely excited, both of them have put a lot of hard work in. They’ve done a good job so I can enjoy the show,” he said.
To many in the Kansas City area and especially those at Park Hill High School, you probably remember the former Simone Award winner for best football player in the area, you probably remember Ronnie’s younger brother Kendrick, also voted best football player in the area.
Aaron Bell, who’s an assistant at Missouri Western, is certainly proud both have made the biggest game of college football and the NFL and tried to keep Ronnie humble throughout the season.
“It’s all about getting better, it’s always something, I mean. It started out as a wow factor, from the day he got drafted until the day he went out there for OTAs and then minicamp. As the season went on he got more and more comfortable,” he said.
Ronnie’s done fairly well for his rookie season, motivated by being picked in the 7th round, he had three touchdowns in his rookie year, learning under the likes of Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk.

“It’s just all about whatever it takes to win, that’s his mindset, so, he wants to upset the hometown,” he said.
And to do so, they’ll head to Vegas, a place dad has never been.
“I’m going to be on the golf course on Saturday, at one point, and probably find a Casino since it’s Vegas and then go to the game,” Aaron Bell said.
A great culmination to a great season for his sons, a national champion and a potential Super Bowl champion. Both in their first seasons. So, again, don’t mind a proud dad.

“It’s good to see his hard work pay off, he’s been humble throughout the whole time and that really helps,” Aaron Bell said.
