Father of newest Michigan football commit has perfect celebratory post
There’s a certain pride that comes from wearing the winged helmet. It stays with you for the rest of your earthly life; the fraternity of former players runs deep. That’s also why there’s an added emphasis when it comes to legacy players: They’re taking that brotherhood into another generation.
Michigan football gained a legacy commitment on Sunday: 2024 Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day four-star wide receiver Channing Goodwin chose to be a Wolverine. Goodwin’s father, Jonathan Goodwin, played for the maize and blue in the late-1990s before going onto a successful NFL career.
With the news that his son would be playing for his alma mater, Goodwin had the perfect reaction on social media:

Yes, that’s him and head coach Jim Harbaugh, who coached the elder Goodwin in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers. Certainly, both were feeling a certain level of ebullience on Sunday with Channing’s commitment.
