Familiar face set to take over the East Peoria boys basketball program

Jarrett Brown will be named the new East Peoria head boys basketball coach, pending approval at Monday's school board meeting.

Brown spent the last two seasons at Deer Creek-Mackinaw, amassing an overall record of 19-41 and 7-17 in Heart of Illinois Conference play. Former East Peoria head coach Jon Grzanich had resigned following a 19-win 2023 season and a Class 3A regional title appearance — the program's first since 2010.

Previously, Brown was the head coach at Limestone from April 2020 to July 2020, but cited 'personal reasons' for his resignation following the three-month tenure.

In seven seasons with Morton from 2010 to 2017, Brown led the Potters to three 20-win seasons along with three Mid-Illini championships, two regional titles and one sectional crown. He went 119-96 overall during that time.
