'(Expletive) them': Ravens CB Marcus Peters goes off on former team, L.A. Rams

Marcus Peters still isn't over the trade that sent him to the Baltimore Ravens.

Peters, formerly of the Los Angeles Rams, hopped on the Catchin' Fades podcast with host and former L.A. teammate Aqib Talib and spoke about the October 2019 deal.

"(Expletive) them," Peters said in a promotional teaser that published Tuesday. "That's how I was feeling, and I'm still feeling like that. Because I felt disrespected, in the sense of, yeah, you y'all can trade me, that's part of the business. But two minutes after that, you bring in another guy who do the same (expletive) I do, maybe a little bit different. If we play this compare game, I do a little bit more. That (expletive) was disrespectful to me."

The other guy Peters referenced is current Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey, whom Los Angeles acquired in a different trade that same day.

Peters and Ramsey are among the top cornerbacks in the NFL. Peters won the 2015 Defensive Rookie of the Year award and has three Pro Bowl and two first-team all-pro selections to his name. Ramsey, similarly, is a four-time Pro Bowler and has two first-team all-pro selections in his five seasons.

The Rams went on to finish 9-7 in the 2019 season, good enough for third place in the NFC West, but missing out on the playoffs. This was one year after Los Angeles went 13-3 and lost to the New England Patriots, 13-3, in Super Bowl 53 — a team that Peters was a part of.

Peters posted seven tackles and one pass defended in the Super Bowl.

"If we could've gone a little bit more, we had a 'ship year that year, too," Peters continued of the 2019 Rams. "I don't think we was the problem, I don't think that we were the issues that was holding the Rams back of taking the steps of where we needed to get to."

This was just the latest chapter of the Peters-Ramsey feud.

In November 2019, just one month after the trades, the Ravens toppled the Rams, 45-6, in a game in which Peters recorded an interception against his former team.

After the pick, television cameras caught Peters apparently yelling "Jalen" toward Ramsey as the Rams took the field.

Then, after the game, Peters was in the middle of hugging a Rams staffer when Ramsey approached Peters and appeared to say something that bothered him. Both players were eventually separated, though the bad blood spilled into the postgame locker room, as both players continued to jaw at each other.
