Even Stefon Diggs’ ex-QB Kirk Cousins called Josh Allen ‘elite’

You like that? Yes… Kirk Cousins does… especially when it comes to Josh Allen.

The Bills quarterback undoubtedly had a breakout season in 2020 and Buffalo wide receiver Stefon Diggs certainly had something to do with it.

The league-leader in receiving yards, Diggs wanted out of being a member of the Minnesota Vikings last offseason. He got his wish when he was traded to the Bills and to this day, it’s kind of a foggy issue as to why Diggs wanted to leave as he rarely touches on the subject.

But what was recently discussed was Allen… by Diggs’ former QB in Cousins via 4th & Forever with former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez. In a clip shared this week, Cousins sends a major tip of the cap to Buffalo’s signal caller.

“I think the Bills’ stock and Josh Allen’s stock is… only trending up,” Cousins said. “His arm talent is elite and I think with Josh Allen at quarterback holding the football you always have a chance.”

What a full circle quote for Diggs, eh?

While Diggs essentially replaced Cousins in his life with Allen, their personal relationship was evidently not the reason for the wideout wanting to leave the Vikings like was previously speculated, though.

After the trade was announced, Diggs said via The Players’ Tribune that Cousins was “one of the first guys to text me.”

Sounds like their cool, but one could guess that Allen’s good with Cousins as well after this high praise… and let’s not forget. Even as a rookie, Allen did top Cousins and the Vikings in that game where Buffalo was a double-digit underdog on the road.

Correction: Allen topped Cousins… and Diggs, in that 2018 game.
