New England Patriots at Las Vegas Raiders: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 6 game

The New England Patriots (1-4) seek to brush off one of their worst losses in recent history as they travel west to face the Las Vegas Raiders (2-3), who are riding high off a historic win.

Bill Belichick lost 34-0 last week at the hands of the New Orleans Saints. Quarterback Mac Jones was benched for the second straight game after throwing two interceptions. Rookie cornerback Christian Gonzalez has the defense's lone interception of the year, but is on IR with a shoulder injury and could be out the rest of the season.

The Raiders, meanwhile, beat the Green Bay Packers 17-13 Monday night as Davante Adams faced his former team for the first time. It was their first time beating the Packers since 1987. Las Vegas has struggled to find a rhythm with new quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who was in concussion protocol earlier this season. But their defense, led by Maxx Crosby, made its mark with three interceptions last week.

Last season, Josh McDaniels beat his former boss 30-24 on a dramatic final play where, instead of sending the game into overtime, New England botched a lateral pass that turned into a pick-six. The guilty Patriots player, Jakobi Meyers, is now on the other team as Las Vegas' second-leading receiver.

Tyler Dragon: Raiders 21, Patriots 17

Bill Belichick knows Josh McDaniels well. McDaniels knows Belichick well. But the former Patriots offensive coordinator has better weapons at his disposal on both sides of the ball. The Patriots don’t have answers for either wide receiver Davante Adams or defensive end Maxx Crosby. The Patriots have lost two straight, they’ve been outscored in those contests 72-3.

Victoria Hernandez: Raiders 20, Patriots 13

The Raiders defense is finding its stride just as the Patriots offense is reaching rock bottom. Losing Christian Gonzalez takes a lot of air out of New England's defense. Last year's win was more luck than strategy for Las Vegas, but this season's will be more decisive.

Safid Deen: Raiders 24, Patriots 20

The Raiders showed some potential in their win over the Packers, while the Patriots haven’t shown much potential offensively at all this season. Josh McDaniels scores a win over his former boss Bill Belichick this week.
