Emmys 2020: Watch H.E.R. Sing Prince’s “Nothing Compares 2 U” for In Memoriam
Tonight (September 20) at the 72nd Annual Emmy Awards, H.E.R. performed during the In Memoriam portion of the ceremony. She covered the Prince classic “Nothing Compares 2 U.” Watch it happen below.
Among those honored during the In Memoriam segment were Fountains of Wayne’s Adam Schlesinger, TV writer and hip-hop journalist Jas Waters, Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman, Regis Philbin, Naya Rivera, Carol Spinney, James Lipton, Jim Lehrer, Robert Forster, Fred Willard, Brian Dennehy, Rip Taylor, Wilford Brimley, Jerry Stiller, John Witherspoon, Carl Reiner, and Kirk Douglas.
The late independent filmmaker and director Lynn Shelton was also among those honored during the In Memoriam ceremony tonight. Shelton was nominated for Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series, Movie or Dramatic Special at tonight’s ceremony for her work on Little Fires Everywhere.
