Update: Why Glendale top football prospect Kellen Lindstrom picked Tennessee over Oklahoma

Highly touted Glendale pass rusher Kellen Lindstrom announced on Twitter that he has committed to the University of Tennessee.

The Class of 2024 recruit is one of the highest-rated prospects out of southwest Missouri since Hillcrest's Dorial Green-Beckham was the No. 1 player in the 2012 class.

Lindstrom finished last with 40 solo tackles and 73 total. Six of them came for a loss and he had one sack while seeing the majority of the attention from opposing offensive lines throughout the year. He was the subject of many double and triple teams and should be in for a bigger statistical season heading into his senior year.

Lindstrom recently told the News-Leader that his decision would come down to either Tennessee or Oklahoma. He was also offered by Alabama, Michigan, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC, Stanford, Wisconsin, Oregon and many others.

The 6-foot-5, 240-pound defensive end has elite measurables with his size and arm-length. Glendale coaches have praised his motor as his best attribute while claiming that he's only scratching the surface of what he'll become.
