Draymond Green says Kyrie Irving is a better scorer than Kevin Durant

Draymond Green has offered yet another take about Kevin Durant.

Green, on the Tuesday episode of his podcast, made the case that Kyrie Irving of the Mavericks is a better scorer than the Suns' All-Star Durant.

"Kyrie Irving is the scorer that the world thinks of Kevin Durant. And what I meant by that was, there are some things at times that you can do to Kevin to make it a little tougher on him."

Green and Durant have had some issues with each other both on and off the court.

On Feb. 13, on his podcast, "The Draymond Green Show,'' Green said it was "really cowardly" that Durant suggested that Green get help after he struck Suns center Jusuf Nurkic in the face, and was suspended indefinitely. He also called Durant "wack" in his "honest opinion."

Then, 16 days later, he said on Carmelo Anthony's show "7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony" that he has "got nothing but love for KD, actually." He even said that his love for him "ain't going nowhere."

Durant averages 29.1 points per game when playing games against Green. That is 5.6 more points per game than Irving has averaged in his NBA career. Durant has won four scoring titles, and once went back-to-back years where he won NBA Finals MVP awards as a Warriors' teammate of Green's en route to averaging 32.3 points per game over the two series.

But Green explained more to defend his take:

"Because he's (Durant) 7-feet, and he handles the ball a lot. And there are times where because he's 7-feet, if you time it right, you can pressure up and like press up into Kevin and make things a little bit tougher," Green said. "He have to turn his back or something, and just get him out of rhythm a little bit."

Green continued, "But like he's 7-feet, so most guys that can guard him out there when he's handling the ball are not going to be 7-feet because 7-footers don't move like Kevin Durant.''

Green explained what he likes about Irving.

"Kyrie Irving — you can't do anything to make it hard on him," Green said. "You can't make the game tough for Kyrie. He's one of the best three-point shooters. He's got one of the best mid-ranges arguably, if not the best. He's arguably the best finisher in the NBA. He has floaters with either hand ... he can finish with either hand at the rim. Kyrie can also switch and shoot a mid-range jump shot with his left hand. ... There's actually nothing you can do to stop Kyrie from scoring."

Durant's career points per game average is 27.3 points per game to Irving's 23.5. Durant's career true shooting percentage is higher (61.9% to Irving's 58.2%).
