Drake Maye gives shoutout to RJ Davis after win over Syracuse
It’s always nice to see athletes at the University of North Carolina support each other. And that was the case on Saturday after the Tar Heels’ basketball program got a big blowout win over Syracuse to remain unbeaten in Atlantic Coast Conference play.
Following the big win, quarterback Drake Maye gave a shoutout to RJ Davis who finished the game with 22 points to lead all scorers. Maye quote tweeted the official UNC basketball account on X (formerly Twitter) saying “That guy. Simple.”

Maye is used to earning props himself after spending two seasons as the starting quarterback for the football team. He broke records before opting to head to the NFL where he’s projected to be a top 5 pick in the 2024 NFL draft.
As Maye prepares for the draft, he’s making sure to keep an eye on the basketball team in hopes that they do well this season.
