Devin Booker fined $25,000 by NBA after nearly fighting Gorgui Dieng in tunnel

Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker received a $25,000 fine from the NBA after his involvement in a scuffle with Minnesota Timberwolves big man Gorgui Dieng on Tuesday.

During the Timberwolves’ 118-91 win, Booker and Dieng got into it after Booker was hit in the face by Dieng’s elbow during a loose ball. The two exchanged words and eventually had to be separated. After being ejected, both players stared at each other from across the court.

At that point, one of the players suggested they meet in the tunnel to settle the score. It’s unclear whether Booker or Dieng initially proposed that idea. Twitter was split on which player was the instigator. Both players then took off toward the tunnel with security following behind them.

After reviewing the footage, the NBA may believe Booker is mostly at fault. No fine has been announced for Dieng at this time, though one could still coming for the 29-year-old.
