'Detroit shows up': This Lions hype video will get you jacked for NFC championship game

The city is pumped. The Detroit Lions are pumped. Heck, America is pumped.

Ahead of the NFC championship game tonight vs. the San Francisco 49ers (6:30 p.m., Fox), the Lions released a hype video on their social media channels that will leave you pumped, too. In case you weren't already.

"Who knows grit more than us? Dedication more than us?" asks Joel Fluent Greene, a poet, author, event producer and Detroiter reading an original work about the grit of Detroit.

"We’ve been through it all. We expect tough. Still we show up," Greene goes on to say in the 1½-minute video. "We’re not a running gag, a punch line, a sad story, depressing headline or afterthought or laughingstock. We fought for every game we got. Nothing ever came easy. Not for us," he says.

"We’re from Detroit. Detroit shows up."

And show up, they did, including watching the drone show in Detroit Saturday and to a loud and sticky sports bar in Northern California.

Fan Kelvin Hicks showed up, posting a photo of himself decked out in a Lions jersey and baseball cap, saying "Watching from Wichita, KS. Let's Go Lions. You got this."
