Detroit Lions are atop NFL standings after win over Tampa Bay Buccaneers; fans react

The Detroit Lions are tied for the best record in the NFL after a stifling 20-6 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road Sunday.

Detroit is 5-1 for the first time since 2011 and extended its winning streak to four games, with each victory coming by double digits. The defense held Baker Mayfield and the Tampa offense to 251 total yards and just two field goals in yet another dominant performance for the unit that has been one of the league's best to start the season.

Detroit is now tied with the Miami Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles for the best record in the NFL. The 49ers and Eagles, perhaps Detroit's toughest competitors in the NFC, both lost Sunday after starting 5-0, meaning there are no more undefeated teams in the NFL.

SHAWN WINDSOR: Lions keep losing players, but keep getting help, even from Jameson Williams, in win

Jared Goff had another great performance and got the offense going after a slow start and an injury to starting running back David Montgomery. He was 30-for-44 for 353 yards and two touchdowns to Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams. St. Brown finished with a career-high 12 catches for 124 yards and the score.

The Lions are now 13-3 over the last 16 games dating back to 2022. It is the best stretch of football Detroit has ever played in the Super Bowl era.

How about those fans

The Lions' dedicated fan base took over another road stadium on Sunday. This time, it was a sea of Honolulu blue in Raymond James Stadium that offset the Bucs' creamsicle orange throwbacks.

When the game ended and the Bucs fans cleared out, the Lions' loyal supporters did not.
