Cung Le vs. Rich Franklin Head First UFC in China

Following a successful UFC on Fox 4 event in Los Angeles on Saturday night, UFC president Dana White was brimming with news.

Shortly after the post-fight press conference, after revealing that Rory MacDonald suffered a cut that put him out of the BJ Penn fight at UFC 152, White confirmed that Cung Le and Rich Franklin have agreed to fight at UFC on Fuel TV 6 on Nov. 10 in Macau, China.

Le and Franklin will be the event’s headliner.

The two were originally slated to meet at UFC 148 in early July. Injuries on other cards, however, necessitated some shuffling, resulting in Franklin fighting Wanderlei Silva at UFC 147 and Le squaring off with Patrick Cote at UFC 148. Franklin and Le both won their fights.

White revealed after Le’s victory at UFC 148 that putting the fight back together with Franklin for the promotion’s Chinese debut was the goal, but Le injured his foot in the fight with Cote. Everyone had to sit tight and wait to see if Le was going to be ready in time for the November fight card.

It appears that question has been answered and UFC on Fuel TV 6: Le vs. Franklin is headed to Macau.
